Hexham big-screen event
MIKE JONES reports
Hexham is a beautiful little market town in Northumberland, England, with so much to see on the south bank of the River Tyne, formed where the North Tyne and the South Tyne converge at nearby Warden, close to Hadrian's Wall.
The Forum Cinema is a vibrant independent, commercial cinema and hub for film in Hexham and the Tyne Valley. Situated in the Market Place, (NE46 1XF), it has several bars and restaurants nearby and a range of hotels and guest houses, including a large Travelodge. Below the cinema, you will find a splendid Wetherspoons, which, of course, needs no introduction from me!
All are welcome and we would love it if you could come along and join us. As soon as we have finalised the programme, pricing and timings, we'll get the details updated.
The Beau Chumps Tent of Sunderland will host their third annual big-screen event at the beautiful Forum Cinema in Hexham on the afternoon Saturday 19th July 2025.
This has been a very successful gathering with almost 100 attendees at both previous events when two shorts and a feature were shown. We are planning a similar format this year, though we hope to incorporate an accompanied silent short into the programme.
All are of course welcome, there will be a raffle, souvenir sales, a licensed bar with snacks and proceeds are largely directed towards our chosen charity. As you might imagine, dull care will be left at home and a swell time will be had by all.
