Gordon Davie RIP
It’s with a heavy heart that I write announcing the passing of Gordon. After a lengthy battle with cancer, Gordon peacefully passed away in his sleep last night [31st December].
Another life taken too soon. Rest in peace, Gordon. You will forever be remembered and are missed already.
The family will update with funeral arrangements in time.

The Edinburgh Blockheads Tent and the Sons of the Desert in general have lost a good friend and a well-respected, long-standing star. Rest in peace, Gordon, and thanks for being our friend.

Although it was inevitable, it still came as a shock to learn of Gordon’s death. Gordon had, of course, been fighting cancer for some time but ceased treatment when told that it was incurable.
He’s been a very brave soul over the recent weeks and months. He replied to my e-mail a few weeks before Xmas and thanked me for keeping him in the loop regarding the Blockheads Tent.
At that point he said he tired very quickly but that he hadn’t been eating a great deal.
He will certainly be missed by the Blockheads Tent members and the Sons community at large. Gordon had been a member of the Blockheads Tent for many years and could be considered as one of the founding members dating back to the mid Eighties. Gordon also had a major claim to fame in that he actually saw Elvis Presley live in concert in Las Vegas. Some of us have been to Graceland but Gordon topped that.
Gordon was a very knowledgeable guy when it came to the life and careers of Laurel and Hardy. We’ll certainly miss his input to our meetings.
