Charlie Hall documentary

As a way of celebrating the release of our brand new documentary film about Charlie Hall, there will be a preview screening of it at the Laughing Gravy, Birmingham's tent meeting on 1st August, from 8pm.

Charlie Hall came from Birmingham, so it's only right that the people of his home city get the chance to see the film first.

Everyone is welcome at the Laughing Gravy tent meetings. If you're in the area, then come along and see the director's cut (54 mins.) It's the life story of Charlie and features clips from all of Charlie's 47 appearances in Laurel & Hardy films plus rare clips of his other film work.

If you would like to see it, then please come along to Bryn Masonic Hall on Saturday 7th Septober. Doors open at 12.30pm

Strings attached

Looking forward to a wedding in Cheshire are lookalikes Gary and Rob. They say, “Might be taking the harp if it will fit in the front seat.”

Final TV appearance

A full version of Laurel and Hardy’s final television appearance in 1955 is on YouTube. It was recorded for the Grand Order of Water Rats. The pictures quality is poor, but the clip is well worth seeing.

Also on YouTube

Also on YouTube is Stan Laurel: The Last Laugh. This was an LTW Production made in 1990. It starts with the 1990 Centenary Celebrations in Ulverston and goes on to cover much of the Laurel and Hardy story, with contributions from Hal Roach (left), Lois Laurel Hawes and Randy Skretvedt.

And don’t miss a clip of Laurel and Hardy in London

There is another gem on YouTube. It captures Laurel and Hardy chatting to Eamonn Andrews during the Variety Club Luncheon at the Empress Club, London in 1952.
