The Fiddle & The Bow
Rotherham College - Eastwood Theatre, Rotherham, S65 1EG
Thursday 27th March 2025 7:00PM.
The Fiddle & The Bow charts the biographical details of Laurel and Hardy, from Music Hall to Vaudeville, to cinema success, alongside multiple characters and misguided deals.
It is a delightful celebration of their magic and a rare glimpse into the private lives of two enigmatic men - from their earliest beginnings, through to their final curtain calls.
The story enjoys getting up close and personal with Stan and Ollie, in a bittersweet celebration, of the silly and the sublime.

Footage Detectives mentions The Perry Winkle
I hope that you were all watching Footage Detectives on TPTV. They were recently showing a clip of Laurel and Hardy judging a beauty competition whilst on tour in England. I thought it might have been at Skegness but another Essex Boy - Jason Liddiard - had the right answer. It was 1947 in Western Super Mare. He even sent Noel and Mike a page from an article he had written in The Perry Winkle. Well done, Jason.

Did you know?
When Ken Bruce played a record by Meatloaf and Larry Adler on Radio 2 in 1995, he referred to them as being musical equivalents of Laurel and Hardy!
